Celebration of Excellence at Ocean Springs High
The Ocean Springs School District is ranked number one on the Coast and number three in the state.
Today, the school district gathered at Ocean Springs High School to celebrate their academic excellence. Teachers were recognized, but also students for achievements like 30 plus ACT scores and international baccalaureate diploma recipients.
In addition, 150 plus high school students who passed their AP class exams which earns them college credit and they each got a $100 check per class.
State Superintendent of Education Dr. Carey Wright was in attendance and congratulated the teachers because she said without them this wouldn’t be possible. “They’re here after you leave from school and they’re working at night. They’re working on weekends so when Monday rolls around they are totally prepared to make sure that you have the finest instructional program possible. This is not easy. I often say you cannot thank a teacher enough, but leadership matters.”
Ocean Springs administration spoke about all of the progress they’ve made in the past year and how they hope to keep that momentum up for the future.
