Celebrating the life of Roland Weeks Jr.

Funeral arrangements for a former Sun Herald publisher and long-time Coast community leader who died over the weekend have been announced.

A celebration of life for Roland Weeks Jr. will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14 at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi. Visitation is 9:30 to 11 that morning.

Weeks helped pilot the Mississippi Gulf Coast through good times as well as disaster recoveries during his time leading the Sun Herald.

The Biloxi resident retired in 2001, but continued in community and civic service in the arts, community development, charity, historic preservation, and developing new generations of leaders.

He also helped create the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce in 1988.

Weeks’ wish is to have his ashes scattered on his beloved Mississippi Coast.
