Celebrating local student-athletes at WXXV Student Athlete of the Week Banquet
Tonight, we hosted our inaugural WXXV Student Athlete of the Week Banquet!
Overall, 39 standouts from the six coastal counties were invited to our first-ever reception at the Great Southern Club in Gulfport with Olympic Golf Medalist Brittney Reese serving as the keynote speaker.
News 25’s Ansley Brent has featured some of the top talent across 16 different sports from record breakers to top recruits and even stories of overcoming adversity.
The honorees were awarded plaques and enjoyed an incredible meal with an even more incredible view from the 15th floor.
Gulfport softball and volleyball standout Brooklyn Montana was the second player Ansley ever featured and she took a few moments to close this chapter on her high school career after the event. “It’s an honor to be celebrated amongst some of the best student-athletes on the Gulf Coast, and we’re very thankful to have WXXV cover our sports.”
Montana is heading up to Jones College to play softball for the Bobcats following graduation.
