Celebrating Elvis Presley’s birthday
Today marks Elvis Presley’s 91st birthday. He was born in Tupelo back in 1935 to Vernon and Gladys Presley.
Now, while he was born in Tupelo and is known for his Memphis home of Graceland, Elvis did spend time on the Gulf Coast.
He stayed at what is now the Gulf Hills Hotel in Ocean Springs.
He even performed on the Coast in Biloxi in 1955.
He was set to perform at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum when it opened in 1977, but he passed away before he got the chance.
