Celebrating 75 years of United States Airforce at Gulfpex Stamp and Postcard Show

Stamp vendors and collectors came together for the Gulfpex Stamp and Postcard Show at the St. Martin Community Center.

This year, the theme at the show was ‘Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the United States Air Force.’ Specialized stamps from the Air Force over the years were on display.

The show brings in dealers from southeast U.S., incorporates club member displays, and sponsors a show cover with special cancelations and cachet.

Stamps from as late as the 1800s were on display and for sale.

Gulf Coast Stamp Club President Robert O’Dell says stamps depict fascinating elements of history, geography, and culture. “Stamps are an interesting collectable. There is a lot to stamp usages and a lot of people collect stuff on postal history which is the covers with the stamps on them. Some of them are worth a lot more on cover and stamps just make a nice display in an album.”

The show will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the St. Martin Community Center.
