Catastrophic damage to Slidell after Tornado hits the city.

The city of Slidell suffered massive damages after a tornado swept through the city on Wednesday.

Thankfully there were no major injuries or fatalities but as you can see the damage is quite extensive. Severely damaged buildings, downed power lines, and fallen trees are all visible along Old Spanish trail and the connecting streets in Slidell due to Wednesday’s tornado. Massive power outages continue to put a strain on residents in the area.

Heavy police presence was seen throughout the effected streets. Many residents are now displaced and will now have to find a new place to call home, including 50 residents who had to be evacuated from their apartment complex when the tornado swept through their home.

Assistance efforts are already in motion from organizations like The Salvation Army. Additionally, there will be support from South Mississippi emergency officials.

This city has proved once before that it can rise from a devastating event like this. City officials are asking for patience and assistance as they aim to overcome this disaster like they have before.
