CASA supporting children through the end of the year giving campaign

As the end of the year and the holidays approach, there are too many children who aren’t home for the holidays. CASA is trying to make their holiday a little brighter.

CASA is a nonprofit organization that provides abused and neglected children a safe, permanent, and nurturing home for them by recruiting, training, and supporting a diverse network of court appointed special advocate volunteers.

Volunteers at CASA have arranged wish lists for more than 120 kids in their system so the community can help buy some gifts.

They will also be doing ‘the end of the year giving campaign’ throughout the month of December and will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000. CASA Hancock County Executive Director Cynthia Chauvin said, “It’s really overwhelming and it’s humbling to think that you have kids in your community that have needs and you have a community that is willing to step up and answer that call. The volunteers that do this everyday of the year, not just during Christmas, they are the biggest gift. Every dollar really matters and we need all of it to be able to take care of these kiddos.”

If you would like to donate to CASA and help them reach their goal of $5,000 go to CASAhancock.org for more information.
