CASA of South Mississippi Swears in New Volunteers for Hancock, Harrison, and Stone Counties
CASA of South Mississippi met at the Hancock County Courthouse on Thursday to swear in new volunteers
CASA or Court Appointed Special Advocates of South Mississippi is here at the Hancock County Courthouse, swearing in new volunteers for the first time since expanding.
The expansion saw the organization grow from serving Hancock County to also serving Harrison and Stone County.
“We had the opportunity to help our neighbor and expand services in their community, so we now serve Harrison, Hancock, and Stone counties. It just made sense, we could share administrative costs and we could join forces to be able to serve kids that need us.”
The organization which is, dedicated to advocating for children in foster care, met on Thursday at the courthouse to swear in new volunteers for the first time since the expansion.
“So, it’s just an exciting and really important day in our history. The three counties, Hancock, Harrison, and Stone, we have 70 kids that need volunteer today. These 3 judges have appointed our program to serve those kids and we need volunteers to step and be advocates.”
The 6 volunteers will work across the 3 counties to ensure that children receive proper advocacy in finding safe and nurturing families.
“I look forward to helping the children of Hancock County and representing their best interests.”
