CASA of Harrison County Resource Center ribbon cutting
It was a big win for local children in need today as CASA of Harrison County held their ribbon cutting for their new resource center.
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate and they advocate for neglected and abused children in Harrison County.
The new CASA Resource Center houses food items, children’s birthday presents, personal hygiene items, diapers, and more that volunteers can deliver to families that CASA advocates for.
Since 2011, CASA of Harrison County advocated for nearly 2,000 children in Harrison County. Geanie Herrin with CASA of Harrison County said, “You know before we had this, our volunteers they kind of reached into their own pocket and bought the necessities for the families. I said they do enough already, let us reach out to the community and see if we can get the community’s help to stock our shelves.”
If you would like to donate items you can drop them off directly at the new CASA Resource Center.
