Carl Fest coming soon to Ocean Springs
The Walter Anderson Museum of Art in Ocean Springs is hosting their Magic Hour on Thursday, June 9th.
WAMA hosts free community events like this every quarter and this Magic Hour will celebrate the life of Carl 2.0 the Rooster.
It’s not uncommon to see roosters in the work of Walter Anderson since he was inspired by the nature around him.
The museum partnered with two local Ocean Springs businesses that were Carl’s caretakers, Lil’ Market and Twisted Anchor Tattoo, to put on the event. WAMA Executive Director Julian Rankin said, “We’ll have a pop-up exhibit of Carl-inspired art, a maker’s market, live music, the streets blocked off. It’s a family-friendly festival really celebrating the creative culture of the Coast in Ocean Springs that Carl stood for.”
The event is set for June 9th and runs from 5 to 9 p.m.
