Caregivers Support Symposium offered free community resources

A coalition of healthcare providers hosted a caregiver symposium for family caregivers.

Seniors and caregivers had a chance to browse tables with healthcare information and talk to professionals.

Seniors were also able to get information on Medicare, social security, and senior living.

After hearing from speakers, lunch was served. Home Instead Client Care Coordinator Christopher Thompson said, “This caregiver symposium was designed to have lots of vendors in the health care offering free advice to older adults in all the resources in the community. So, we just wanted them to be able to walk around and gather information from the tables, meet the experts in their fields, and know what they can and can’t have and how to get started with the whole process.”

Thompson says he is looking to make this caregiver support symposium an annual event.
