Car show allows Mustangs to show off, help local charities
If you were driving by Edgewater Mall on Saturday afternoon, you may have spotted lots of nice classic and newer model Mustangs parked to impress.
The Mississippi Coast Mustang Club hosted its 43rd annual fall celebration open car show.
More than 65 cars were registered for the car show, competing in various categories for awards.
The club also held a food drive for Our Mother of Mercy food pantry.
Mustang Club vice president Michael Allen said there’s nothing like a Mustang.
“There’s really just nothing like it,” he said. “I’ve driven a lot of other cars — Corvettes and Dodges and everything like that, but I just like the Mustang.”
Martin Swords, a 1977 Corvette owner, also was out or the show.
“It’s an open show you got new cars, old cars, anything goes out here,” he said. “It’s always good, man. It’s friendly people out here. All the guys in the Mustang club. They’re real nice real cool people.”
All proceeds made from the event will go to the club’s local charities of choice.
