Capital murder trial

Today in Jackson County the capital murder trial of 36-year-old Scotty Street began.
Police Street was responsible for the death of 55-year-old Frankie Fairley three years ago. Street was Fairley’s neighbor. He allegedly stabbed her 37 times and stole her van.
Several witnesses were heard from today and the jury looked at evidence from the scene. At one point, Street’s defense attorney asked that the judge remove media from the court room, but the judge denied that request.
Fairley was a mother to 13 children and a retired teacher. According to her brother, the family has waited a long time for this trial. They just want peace.
