Canopy South Mississippi Child Advocacy Center signing party
Canopy South Mississippi Child Advocacy Center held a signing party pledging to protect children.
Law enforcement, CPS, the district attorney’s office, medical staff, and the CAC staff all signed protocols pledging to help. Protocols are due every three years so every youth court judge has to sign a new court order in all five counties that Canopy South Mississippi Child Advocacy Center services.
The child advocacy center offers forensic interviewing to children when there are allegations of abuse, neglect, or violence.
Lead Multidisciplinary Coordinator Lisa Zimmerman tells News 25 this is a way to make the children feel protected. “This is just a recognition that we stand together as one and we work together jointly and collaborate for the best interest of children and that we protect them ultimately.”
Canopy South Mississippi Child Advocacy Center is celebrating 20 years of protecting and providing healing and prosecution services to abused and neglected children.
