Candidates debate at Jackson County Sheriff’s Forum
The four candidates in the Jackson County sheriff’s race met last night to debate the issues in a public forum.
Current Sheriff John Ledbetter, along with Robert Blocker, Louie Miller, and Robbie O’Bryant, also answered questions from the public at the Mary C. on topics such as handling mental health situations as law enforcement officers and how much a political party plays a role while serving as sheriff.
Ocean Springs Lions Club President Leigh Coleman says letting the community connect with the candidates is essential. “They’re all wonderful gentlemen, and I think they’ll get a, since the questions did come from our community only and just a few random questions from the moderator, I think they’ll get a good picture of who these candidates are and why they want to become sheriff.”
