Camp Aqua underway at the Mississippi Aquarium

The Mississippi Aquarium is hosting a summer camp for curious kids right now!

Campers learn about how the aquarium operates through hands-on experiences at Camp Aqua. The kids are even heading to Ship Island for a day of fun.

Nicole Martz with the Mississippi Aquarium shares with us the educational aspect of the camp for local kids. “Education is so important, it is one of our three pillars. The other two being community and conservation. So, campers get to spend an entire week with us and get to explore all the aquarium has to offer. It is themed waterworks, so they get to meet our staffers – get to get some behind the scenes action. And they get to meet some of our animals!”
