Cameron May’s trial begins today in Jackson County

In Jackson County, trial begins today for the man accused of sexually assaulting and severely beating a woman in Ocean Springs.
Cameron May is charged with one count of kidnapping, one count of sexual battery, and two counts of aggravated assault. He has pleaded not guilty.
This morning, May’s attorney, Melvin Cooper, said May heard voices in his head that commanded him to attack someone on that day. Police say May met the woman at the Dominion Apartment Complex on September 10th, 2015 when he was requesting a rental application. Authorities say he came back later and severely beat, choked, and sexually assaulted the single mother.
