Cadets and STEM students get first look at STEM Expo at Thunder over the Sound

Keesler Air Force Base is inspiring young minds as they explore new career fields.

Cadets and STEM program students were the first to explore the STEM Expo at the 2023 Thunder over the Sound Air and Space Show.

It was an opportunity for students to learn more about internships, education, and training opportunities while interacting with the latest STEM technology.

The students were able to visit engineering, science, and mathematics displays. Gautier High JROTC Cadet Ciara Harvey says STEM expos like this are great for community relations. “It really just brings everyone together and inspires young people to have like these passions for themselves. I know I’m passionate about aviation. It just increased my passion for it. I just genuinely love it even more and I’m excited for what the future has for me.”

The STEM Expo will be open to the public Saturday and Sunday in conjunction with the air show.
