Businesses reopen after snow storm

Businesses are starting to reopen after the winter weather conditions.

WXXV News 25’s Everett Ganier Jr. has more.

With the snow starting to melt away in South Mississippi, we were able to talk to a manager at Froogles about getting those doors back open again. Froogles Manager Barbara Gessing said, “So far, we’ve had a great response to opening back up from the public. We’re trying to make sure we have the essentials on hand for them. I think we prepared well enough that way, even though we didn’t get a truck, we still have stuff for people to come in and get stuff until we get our next truck.”

WXXV also spoke to a family from out of the area about their preparation before and after the snow. Vanessa Gibson said, “We drove up from Florida to visit my dad. It started to snow. I woke up the children and we played and they had fun. I noticed it was getting serious so we drove up to Walmart. They were closed. We started to panic a little bit because we weren’t able to prepare. We noticed some stores across the street were open so we were able to get a few essentials to get us through the storm.”

While the snow was a sight to see, South Mississippi is slowly getting back to normal.
