Burn ‘em up in the Pass
The smell of burnt rubber and sound of revving engines attracted thousands of spectators to the fourth Burn ‘em up in the Pass.
From classics to hot rods to vans, dozens of registered Cruisin’ vehicles took their shot at winning the burn out competition.
The winner is decided based on the applause from the crowd.
In the hopes of creating the most smoke, some cars put the pedal to the metal so much they burned right through their tires.
Special guest ‘Model A Shane’ Sink also made an appearance in his alcohol burning 1929 Model A. “The biggest factors that give you the best burn out is instant smoke, constant smoke, usage of the pad, you gotta pop both tires, you can’t hit the wall, and you have to drive off the pad.”
Sink goes to 15 burnout events a year. This was his first time at Cruisin’ the Coast.
