Burn ban now in effect in Bay St. Louis

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WXXV)-Due to high winds and extremely dry conditions, the Bay St. Louis Fire Department is issuing an immediate burn ban within city limits.

This includes the burning of leaves, brush, debris, and any other outdoor fire activity.

This action is being taken in the interest of public safety to reduce the risk of wildfires and property damage.

The suspension will remain in effect until further notice, pending improvement of weather conditions and moisture levels.

Anyone found in violation of the suspension may be subject to penalty.
