Budweiser Clydesdales stop in Biloxi
The Budweiser Clydesdales kicked off their Gulf Coast tour tonight. The first stop was Downtown Biloxi.
Cecilia Dobbs Walton with the City of Biloxi said, “You know in Biloxi we love to have a parade, so why not have a parade with the Clydesdales. They can parade downtown in our new revived downtown.”
The Clydesdales, world renowned as ambassadors for Budweiser, were greeted Wednesday night by an excited crowd. North Carolina resident Debbie Sadler said, “I mean, they are just majestic, you can’t help but want to touch them.”
But to get to this point, the Clydesdales got an early start. Handler Lauren Lambeth said, “We actually started at 7 this morning. We have to go in and get everyone fed. We actually have to wash the white feathers on their feet. Everybody gets groomed then we actually braid them. It takes us about 30 minutes to get their manes and tails braided and get rosettes put in their manes.”
The horses paraded down Howard Avenue with a stop at Biloxi City Hall to meet some new faces. Lambeth says they enjoy the experience just as much as the crowd. “It’s always really exciting and refreshing to see how excited people are when we pull up. So you meet all kinds of new people, you get all kinds of great questions and it’s really exciting to get to share this.”
