BREAKING NEWS: Two people injured after vehicle hits the back of 18-wheeler on Interstate 10 near Ocean Springs exit, westbound traffic delayed

One person has been life flighted to USA Hospital in Mobile, and another person has been taken to a hospital in Ocean Springs after their vehicle hit the back on an 18-wheeler on Interstate 10 near Exit 54 around 8 am this morning. This, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

It happened in the westbound lanes of the Interstate. MHP Officer Chase Elkins says two of the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the 54-mile marker in Ocean Springs have been shut down as the MHP, AMR and firefighters work the scene of the accident.

No official word yet on whether the driver of the 18-wheeler was injured, or what caused the accident. News 25 has a crew at the scene, and will have more details on the News at Noon.
