Breakfast at the Seabee Base
Community leaders and first responders enjoyed breakfast this morning at the Naval Construction Battalion Center.
Commanding Officer Captain Cheryl Hansen addressed the crowd with an update of what is happening inside the gate.
First responders from Gulfport fire and police departments as well as AMR were also honored for their heroism during the breakfast.
The chamber hopes these public events bridge the gap between businesses and our residents. Gulfport Chamber of Commerce Director Hannah Burnett said,”We’re privileged to partner with the Seabee Base to hear from their commanding officer. This is just a way to connect the community with the base and help the community understand practically on a daily basis what is going on on the base facility.”
Some of the topics Captain Hansen addressed with the crowd included deployments, solar energy, and some projects the base has up their sleeve in the near future.
