Breakfast in preparation for National Day of Prayer
Youth for Christ hosted a prayer breakfast this morning to get people ready for National Day of Prayer, which is celebrated on the first Thursday in May.
National Day of Prayer is an annual observance designated by the United States Congress. People are asked ‘to turn to God in prayer and meditation.’
Churches, small groups, and local government invite citizens from all backgrounds to pray for the nation.
Organizers with the National Day of Prayer read scriptures and talk about the process of getting ready for the big day while guests enjoy breakfast. National Day of Prayer Gulfport Coordinator Genedal Fratantuono said, “We hope there will be many, many churches and many, many people participating because when people come together and pray there is a great power in doing that and it moves the heart of God when his people come together to pray.”
National Day of Prayer will take place May 4th. Many organizations across the Coast will have events set up.
