Bras On Broad Strings Up Bras on Hwy. 90 for Awareness

If you thought you saw a big chain of bras as you were driving along Highway 90 Friday morning, you were not mistaken.

The Boyington Nursing Facility hosted Bras on Broad Friday morning, where they stretched the 103 bras they collected along Highway 90 to raise awareness for breast cancer. All bras collected will be donated to the Gulf Coast Women’s Center for Nonviolence.

Leslie Bucklar, Relations Director of the Gulf Coast Women’s Center, says, “Because it is also domestic violence month. Most people do not know that and don’t realize with breast cancer awareness. It’s kind of gotten overshadowed, so we just thought something that we could do for both.”

And raise awareness they did. Lots of cars honked as they passed by the long chain of bras.
