Bradford-O’Keefe Coat Drive delivery
The Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home has been collecting sweaters and coats for close to four weeks now for homeless veterans in our area.
Today, the funeral home delivered the warm clothing to the VA Hospital. The VA Hospital will now take over and find needy veterans in the community to donate them to.
Overall more than three dozen garbage bags full of donations were delivered. Each year they say the donations grow and more people want to get involved.
They took up these donations at all six of their locations as well as some other local businesses in Gulfport and Biloxi.
The Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home has been doing this for five years now and they say giving runs in the family. Organizer Jeff O’Keefe said, “Well, my grandpa once taught me was the greatest thing we can give to someone is our time. So, being able to take the time to organize this event is kind of a blessing within itself. If you have that availability you owe it to everyone and yourself to do so and to contribute your time.”
