BP Oil Spill Money Mississippi Gulf Coast
The fate of more than 700 million dollars in BP damages money is still up in the air. A six-person committee of state house and senate members had a deadline of Monday at 8 pm to create a bill but lawmakers were not able to reach a consensus. This morning dozens of members of the gulf coast business council had a chance to vote yes or no on a Mississippi House deal that would give around 35% of state BP money to other parts of the state other than the coast. And council members voted this version of the bill down.

Gulf Coast Business Council Members of the Gulf Coast Business Council also voted they would feel more inclined to support a bill if there was a governing board in charge of the money instead of an advisory board.
