Boys and Girls Club receives donation

The Boys and Girls Club of the Gulf Coast accepted a ten thousand dollar check from Harrah’s Gulf Coast this afternoon.
Through the Caesar’s Foundation Grant, Harrah’s Gulf Coast has donated to other organizations like the American Red Cross and the Humane Society of South Mississippi. This donation to the Boys and Girls Club of the Gulf Coast will go to Triple Play.
This health and wellness program is aimed to improve the health of children through education and physical activities. Harrah’s Gulf Coast VP of Marketing and Hospitality Kennedy Smith said, “It teaches them what they put in their body as well as that exercise is not only important at this age, but is important throughout their entire lives.”
Boys and Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast CEO Keva Scott said, “This program goes a step further where we’re teaching them to grow sustainable gardens. So we’ll be doing some gardening at this club and then we’ll also do food prep at this club. So we are really excited about this partnership and what it’s going to allow us to do and we’re expecting good things to come from the program that will stay with our kids.”
Five different Boys and Girls Clubs in Harrison and Hancock County will benefit from this donation.
