Boy Killed by Bus in Macon County, Alabama
A five-year-old boy was struck and killed by a school bus around 6:30 this morning in Macon County, Alabama.
The child has been identified as Bisiah Hedges, a kindergarten student. Investigators say the bus driver saw Bisiah’s siblings board the bus but never saw him. The driver told investigators she even looked back at his door one last time to see if he was coming, but started to pull away when she didn’t see him outside.
What the driver couldn’t see was that Bisiah had apparently dropped his backpack in front of the bus and bent down to pick it up. That’s when he was fatally struck.
No charges are anticipated.
