Boo Ride in Brickyard Bayou in Gulfport

Families biked through the trails in Gulfport’s Brickyard Bayou wearing spooktacular attire for the first ever Boo Ride.

Bikers rode through the kids trail in Halloween costumes, collecting candy and goodies throughout the route.

The Brickyard Bayou trail opened in 2020 and consists of three miles of dirt path ideal for a bike ride or stroll.

Gulfport works alongside bicycle groups across the Coast to create events like these that encourage families to be active together. Gulf Coast Bicycle Club President Eddie Holmes said, “It’s great, great weather, nice event for the kids, a great family thing. We really do like to work hand and hand with the community and promote safe biking events for everybody.”

Nine organizations helped pass out the goodies to the children. The city’s next big event is the Boo Bash at the Gulfport Sportsplex Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be plenty of games, activities, and candy.
