Bomb Threats at Pascagoula and Gautier Schools

An ominous trend seems to be spreading throughout the Coast. The fifth and sixth bomb threats were made today in Gautier and Pascagoula.
D’iberville High, St. Martin High, Ocean Springs Middle School, Gautier High and now Pascagoula High and Gautier middle, six schools in the past two weeks forced to evacuate after bomb threat scares. This is a trend that has left students fed up. Gautier High senior Brittney Delaney said, “My momma told me to never call nobody stupid but I mean there’s nothing else to call it. It’s not funny, it’s not a joke. There’s no reason for it.”
Three juveniles are in custody for the threats at Ocean Springs Middle and D’iberville High but at least four other culprits remain anonymous. For now, authorities have made no connection between the six threats but instead they say it’s all one big game of copycat. Lieutenant Doug Adams with the Pascagoula Police Department said, “Usually, a lot of these things are copycat incidents and so we won’t know until we investigate further.”
So far, every school was deemed bomb free after thorough searches by multiple law enforcement agencies. Authorities say they will continue to treat each and every threat just as seriously as the last . “The school and the police department, law enforcement, are going to treat every threat as a credible threat until we determine that it’s safe for the kids to go back in the class. You can never assume that anything like this is a hoax, especially in this day and time,” said Adams.
Debbie Anglin, communications director of the Pascagoula-Gautier School District, tells News 25 hopefully the trend will come to an end when students return from Thanksgiving break.
If you have any information on any of the six bomb threats, you are encouraged to call your local police department or Crime Stoppers.
