Bomb squad inspects suspicious package at Allen Toyota

Today Gulfport police responded to a call about a suspicious package at the Allen Toyota dealership in Gulfport.

The call was received at about 11:40 a.m. Once on the scene, Gulfport Police Department called the Biloxi Bomb Squad. They approached the package, which was inside a pickup truck. Once opened, they found a decorative wall item posing no threat.

Gulfport police found that the item was actually sent to the home of an Allen Toyota employee who says he was confused by the package because it was sent from overseas and was not something he was expecting. He then took it to work with him, shared his concerns with a co-worker, who then notified the police.
