Body found on Keebler Road confirmed to be Dorothy Burks
Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer has confirmed that the body found off Keebler Road on Wednesday is 75-year-old Dorothy Burks.
Miss Burks body was found in the woods behind a residence on Keebler Road in Lyman, the same road where Burks was last seen from video on a door security camera.
Burks was reported missing on March 23rd near 5th Street in Orange Grove, then later spotted on the security camera on Keebler Road.
She was discovered by a private detective working alongside the United Cajun Navy. The detective says he felt the need to search again in the area after a neighbor called about a foul smell.
With the help of a dog handler, they were able to locate her in a heavily wooded area about 100 feet off Keebler Road.
Switzer said Burks appeared to have died not long after she was seen on the security camera.
