Boat donated for artificial reef in the Mississippi Sound
One of the first boat dealerships in Biloxi donates a historic boat that will be used for an artificial reef in the waters of the Mississippi Sound.
On February 7th, Cookie and Valerie Brou donated the boat originally built for Edward Brou in the 1960s in honor of Bel Brou Sporting Goods.
Bel Brou was open until its destruction in Hurricane Katrina.
The family says they made many memories on the boat, but are glad to give it a new life as a reef for aquatic species and a spot for families to fish.
The location of this new reef is being kept under wraps right now so fish can establish a presence at the vessel.
