Boat damaged in fire at Bay St. Louis Municipal Harbor
On May 28, 2021, at approximately 10:55 a.m. the Bay St. Louis Police Department and Fire Department responded to a large vessel fire, a 48-foot Silverton, at the Bay St. Louis Municipal Harbor.
Fire Captain John Farve stated the vessel was unoccupied at the time and sustained heavy damage. Captain John Farve stated the fire was quickly contained and extinguished and no other property damage occurred.
The vessel was safely removed from the Harbor by Sea Tow. The Harbor has returned to full operation and services.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Hancock County Deputy Fire Marshal John Albert Evans.
