Board of Trustees select next Pascagoula Gautier School District superintendent
The Pascagoula Gautier School District has selected their next superintendent.
On Monday, the Board of Trustees for the school district selected Dr. Caterria Payton to be the next superintendent of the district.
Dr. Payton has over 25 years of service to PGSD and brings a wealth of leadership experience and deep commitment to student success.
Dr. Payton began her career as an assistant teacher in the school district in 1999 and then served as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent.
“We are confident that Dr. Payton’s leadership, experience, and vision will continue to drive our district forward,” said Tracy Jackson-Wilson, PGSD Board President. “Her deep roots in our community and proven track record of success make her an outstanding choice to lead PGSD into the future.”
“I am excited about becoming the leader of the district where I have spent my entire career,” said Dr. Payton. “It is an incredible privilege to build on our district’s achievements, and I look forward to the journey of continued success alongside our educators, families and community partners.”
Dr. Payton will officially assume her role on July 1, 2025.
