Blue alert issued for suspect wanted in fatal Officer Involved Shooting in Meridian

Many of you received a Blue Alert on your phone and we now know what happened.  A Meridian police officer was shot and killed and now MBI is investigating.

The Meridian Star reports the shooting happened after the unidentified officer responded to a domestic violence call earlier this evening.

Lauderdale County Coroner Clayton Cobler said a woman also died in the shooting. She has not been identified.

The suspect is 31-year-old Dante Marquez Bender. He’s believed to be driving a 2004 black Nissan Armada with a tag that reads ‘IMANI.’
