Bloody Sunday Trip Adding Bus
Due to popular demand, the Moss Point Visionary Circle has decided to add a second bus to their sixth annual Bloody Sunday trip.
There were already 50 Moss Point High School students signed up to attend the group’s trip to Selma, Alabama. The trip will be in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic march back in 1965.
As of last week, the group only had one bus, which was full, but now they’ve decided to give even more students a chance to learn about history on the exact bridge where it happened.
The group says even after the second bus is full anyone is welcome to caravan behind to join in on the annual event that continues to grow. Callie Marshall with Moss Point Visionary said, “Once we seat all of our children, it’s open to the public. The trip, we’ve been doing this for five years. There are at least 40 to 50 thousand people participating every year. Last year was the 50th anniversary. There were 80 to 100 thousand people there.”
Buses will leave Dantzler Stadium March, 6th at 6:30 a.m. If you’d like to hop the second bus, you can contact the Moss Point Visionary Circle at 228-291-3471.
