Blood drives for charter bus victims

In the wake of Tuesday’s tragic accident in Biloxi, the Blood Center has confirmed that some of the injured have been transported to hospitals served by the Blood Center.
Blood has been provided to meet the transfusion therapy demands of these patients. Starting today through Sunday they will have a blood drive at different locations for healthy individuals to replenish blood and donate for people in need.
Today they were in front of the PetSmart in the Crossroads Shopping Center. Blood donor Nick Dubuisson said, “We really want to do as much as we can to help those people out. Doing this, it’s a little thing, but you really want to do as much as you can.”
Blood Center Coastal Regional Supervisor Gina Necaise said, “We really need donors to come out. We’re trying between now and Friday to get 150 units collected.”
If you or anyone you know would like to donate blood this weekend, the Blood Center will have their bus in various locations across the Gulf Coast.
On Friday March 10th they will be at:
• Edgewater Mall from 12-7 p.m.
• Singing River Hospital from 12-7 p.m.
• Gautier Donor Center at 1408 HWY 90 Suite S from 9 to 5 p.m.
This weekend they will be at the Edgewater Mall from 12-7 p.m. and the Gautier Donor Center from 9-3 p.m. They will also be at the Ocean Springs Walmart from 12-7 p.m. and the Waveland Walmart from 12-7 p.m.
