Bishop Kihneman releases statement on the death of Pope Francis

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)-As Catholics and Christians here in South Mississippi and worldwide mourn the death of Pope Francis, many leaders are sending out their condolences.

In a statement released Monday morning by the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi, Bishop Louis Kihneman says “The Pope’s unwavering dedication to the Gospel touched countless hearts and brought the light of Christ to all corners of the globe.”

Bishop Kihneman went on to ask that Pope Francis’ witness of love and mercy continue to inspire us all.

Pope Francis was 88-years-old.

Bishop Kihneman announced a memorial mass for Pope Francis. The public is invited to Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Biloxi on Tuesday, April 22nd at 10:30 a.m.
