Biloxi’s Julie Segroves earns back-to-back Gatorade Player of the Year honors for Track and Field!

The excitement continues over in Biloxi as one of their own receives the highest honor in Mississippi yet again! Biloxi pole vaulter Julie Segroves has been selected as Mississippi’s girl Gatorade Player of the Year for Track and Field for the second year in a row.

This honor is awarded to the top athlete in the state in their respective sport, and if you’ve seen her stats or seen her jump, this comes as no surprise. The Former WXXV Student Athlete of the Week is a four-time State Champion, currently holding the Mississippi high school pole vault record for both indoor and outdoor competitions. Her south state jump of 13’5 inches put her 11th in the nation when it comes to high school pole vaulters.

Julie’s college recruitment journey was impressive to say the least, eventually signing to the Air Force Academy. Even more admirable than all the accolades she’s earned throughout her career, she’s already begun her journey with the academy, currently at basic training.

We could not be more proud of who Julie is both in and out of the pole box.

Congratulations to Basic Cadet Julie Segroves Squadron B, your back-to-back track and field Gatorade Player of the Year!
