Biloxi woman charged with stealing from employer

A Biloxi woman is in jail, charged with stealing money from a business where she worked.

Biloxi Police on Monday arrested 33-year-old Amber Smith, charging her with two felony counts of embezzlement. She was taken to Harrison County jail. Bond was set at $75,000.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation that began on December 20, 2023, when a business in the 200 block of Beauvoir Road made a criminal complaint. The business had found during an internal audit that money was missing. The business later determined that Smith had stolen in excess of $1,000 from the company.
