BILOXI STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS

Today was Biloxi’s annual State of the City address. News 25’s Kristen Anzuini was there and has all of the details.

The city of Biloxi is on the move which was the theme of Mayor Andrew “Fofo” Gilich’s state of the city address.
Mayor Gilich says, “It went from ideas to results… ”
There was a celebration inside the Beau Rivage casino as the Mayor of Biloxi gave his annual state of the city address to more than 650 people.
“There is a lot of gratification and excitement and of course i am excited to be mayor of my hometown,” says Mayor Gilich.
In the address, Mayor Gilich talked about some of the city’s most important accomplishments of 20-18, with one of the biggest projects being Howard Avenue.
Mayor Gilich says, “The developers have jumped in and they are using all of their skills and abilities to move things forward right in downtown and of course we have the walk overs for our tourist and it will all enable economic engine to fire up. ”
And moving forward into the new year, the mayor has high hopes for the city, including a new gate for Keesler Air Force base and improvements to the downtown area.
Cecilia Dobbs Walton, Public Affairs for the city says, “There is going to be a lot of retail space and breweries, restaurants and even living space in that downtown area.”
