Biloxi Shuckers win Home Opener 8-2 over Pensacola Blue Wahoos

You couldn’t have written up a more beautiful day for Minor League Baseball to be back on the Mississippi Gulf Coast! The Biloxi Shuckers celebrated their Home Opener by welcoming the Pensacola Blue Wahoos to town. Right-handed pitcher Jaron Deberry got the nod on the mound.

First baseman Blake Burke made noise early in the bottom of the first inning, hitting his fourth home run in four games. The Shuckers would tack on two runs in both the second the third inning. Deberry pitched five shutout innings allowing only one first and seven strikeouts. Damon Keith was 2-4 with three RBIs and Dylan O’Rae was also 2-4.

The Biloxi Shuckers win their home opener with a final score of 8-2. Game two of the homestand will take place Wednesday night with a 6:35pm first pitch.
