Biloxi Shuckers tab Mike Guerrero as manager
Despite Major League Baseball being in its third month of a lockout, Minor League Baseball is ready to roll on Opening Day and the Biloxi Shuckers are once again rolling with Mike Guerrero.
Today, the Shuckers announced Guerrero as their manager for a sixth season, actually coming off his first-ever losing campaign in Biloxi.
Despite last year’s overall mark of 45-69, his track record speaks for itself with four straight winning seasons from 2016 to 2019 capped off by the Shuckers sweeping first and second half league titles in 2018 and 2019.
This is Guerrero’s 24th season as a Minor League manager.
Joining Guerrero in the dugout for the 2022 campaign is Chuckie Caufield back with the Shuckers for a fifth season, second as hitting coach, as well as Nick Childs coming back for a second year as pitching coach.
Newcomers to the staff include assistant coach Michael O’Neal, athletic trainer Matt Deal, and conditioning specialist Grant Kastelan.
