Biloxi Shuckers sweep organizational awards for second straight month
The Milwaukee Brewers have a lot to be excited about in their farm system, especially at the double A level. For the second month in a row, the Biloxi Shuckers have swept the organizational awards.
Today, Troy Stokes Jr. was named Minor League Player of the Month and Aaron Wilkerson was named Pitcher of the Month.
Stokes Jr. has been on fire at the plate between single and double A, racking up 13 runs, 13 RBIs, 19 walks, and seven steals on a .289 batting average.
The left fielder was called up on July 27th and his first double A homerun in his first home game on Sunday.
As for Wilkerson, the right handed starter went 3-1 in five July starts, posting a 2.25 ERA with 31 strikeouts to seven walks. His 0.81 whip was the best in all of double A baseball for July.
Jacob Nottingham and Corbin Burnes took home the awards in June.
Tonight, the Shuckers took on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. Home team wins their fifth game in a row by the final score of 13-0.
Biloxi tied its franchise record with 20 hits in the blowout and Johnny Davis had five of them, making him just the second player in franchise history to accomplish that feat.
