Biloxi Shuckers Profile: Mauricio Dubon

One of the players making his Shuckers debut tonight is Mauricio Dubon, who is set to be the team’s shortstop in 2017. Last month, he went full Derek Jeter during a spring training game in honor of his favorite player, a good sign of things to come during his time in Biloxi. Biloxi Shuckers Manager Mike Guerrero said, “What he offers? He’s a supermarket. He’s got everything to offer. He can do everything. There is no limit on him.”
“That’s him, I always idolized him. Actually, I have a baseball card of him in my wallet the last year he played, but yeah, I always watched that thing. Funny thing, I did that play a lot in high school. And coming to pro ball and everything, just happened to be caught on camera and everything. So that was pretty special,” said Dubon.
The Shuckers return to Biloxi on Wednesday for their home opener against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at 6:35 p.m.
