Biloxi Shuckers host media day ahead of 2024 regular season

The MLB regular season got started last week, and this week minor league teams across the country are doing the same thing – including the Biloxi Shuckers.

Tuesday was media day for the 2024 Biloxi Shuckers. Players on the roster got to put on the team threads for the first time this season and take the field for the first time for practice ahead of their season opener on Friday. With 19 returning players from last season, including high-level prospects not just in the Brewers organization but throughout the entire MLB, there is a lot of excitement with this years squad.

First year Shuckers manager Joe Ayrault and highly touted prospect Eric Brown Jr. spoke to the media on their new opportunities and the excitement that comes with a roster like they have to start the season.

“When I played in the minor leagues, I came up with the Braves, and all of my teammates told me you are going to be one of those minor league grinder manager,” said coach Ayrault. “…I guess those guys were right.”

“Oh, it’s exciting,” said Brown Jr. “You are around the best talent in baseball and some of the greatest talent in this organization…so being able to play next to them is pretty awesome.”
