Biloxi Shuckers giving back to the community all week
What better way to celebrate the Biloxi Shuckers final home stand than to give back to the community?
As the Biloxi Shuckers host the Mississippi Braves for their last home series of the season, they’re featuring a plethora of community initiatives.
Before game one, the American Red Cross is hosting a blood drive at MGM Park in the north parking lot and the game itself is called ‘Strike out the Stigma’ intended to raise suicide prevention awareness.
Other events this week include a college fair night, first responders and frontline workers night, and an opportunity to donate to Goodwill of South Mississippi. Shuckers Media Relations and Broadcast Manager Garrett Greene said, “As a last hoorah for summer and as a last opportunity for us to make a big impact in the community while we are bringing people into the ballpark, we thought it was really important to make sure that we reach out to a bunch of different community wide initiatives and did everything we could to give back while people are coming in because during the off season we do a lot to go out into the community and give our time but this is our last chance to have people come to us and make a difference.”
The Shuckers will host every game this week starting at 6:35.
